The Saudade Publication is now available online here

Saudade invited 10 artists from around the world to draw inspiration from specific pieces within the Expatriate Archive Centre in The Hague.  These art works were designed to fit together inside an antique suitcase donated by one of the EAC’s founders.

The Saudade book is a companion to the Saudade project, and contains images of the project artworks, the archival pieces that inspired them, conversations with the artists, and essays from artistic and historical perspectives, as well as the full story of the celebrated suitcase.

The book is a fascinating resource for students, artists, acedemics and art lovers. It would be a great edition to a university library and particularly for departments that are investigating interdisciplinary practices. It was designed by Atelier Carvahlo Bernau as both a informative handbook and an exhibtion catalogue.
